IS OUR PRAISE GOD'S VOICE?

In her hymn, To God Be the Glory, Fanny Crosby says,

"Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!"

Could it be that she is saying our praise is the voice of God on earth?

  1. I don't think it's quite that inclusive, but certainly: we are Christ's ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20); God's creation intention was that we re-present Him to the earth (Genesis 1:26); and although that was lost in the garden of Eden, Jesus and Holy Spirit are restoring us IN THE PRESENT to that condition (2 Corinthians 3:18). Wow!

    Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
    And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
    But purer, and higher, and greater will be
    Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see!

  2. Mark, you say, "God's creation intention was that we re-present Him to the earth (Genesis 1:26); and although that was lost in the garden of Eden"

    I absolutely agree that God intended us to re-present him to the earth (that is very clear in the 'image' language). I do not believe that this was lost in Eden, but rather irreparably damaged. In other words, I believe we remain the image of God, but that our presentation of that image is always--this side of heaven--distorted. We are both glorious and despicable.

    As for, "Holy Spirit are restoring us IN THE PRESENT to that condition (2 Corinthians 3:18). Wow!"

    An emphatic, YES!!!
