Thank you Laura, I really appreciate your comments. This thing on the Beatitudes was very hard for me to do - it challenged me so much! but I sincerely believe that it's fundamental to us being the people our Lord intended.

I'm working on an ecclesiology for/of the emerging church and one of the key points in my model is "be the people".So much of what we/I struggle with, I think, is trying so hard to do, all the while neglecting to be (or even know who it is we are).I'll be studying Matthew indepth in the spring term--kingdom stuff--and you've given me some good thought fodder.
