BACK FROM THE LAST HURRAH

UPDATE: Ann posted her pictures. She captured some great rain and quail pictures, and the hail that melted before I could get a shot.

Well, just back from 3.5 days of porch-sitting, fine-dining, and getting ahead on semester reading. All this and three monsoon rains.

The Dining

We had two downpours on Friday and another on Monday. Friday a 3-5 inch deep "river" was plummeting down the stairs and walkway around the side of the house.

Ann and I did some cluging and reduced the flow by probably 70% for the Sunday rain. Here's my water diversion placed near the top of the property:

Ann created a gutter midway and another water diversion near the bottom of the stairs (no pix...bummer).

There were also projects. Ann decided to search for the brick patio...

Finally, we were able to photograph the elusive quail living behind the house. It has only taken two years or so (those birds run fast).

All in all, a great weekend. More pictures here.
