Wisdom for the journey

Perry Downs came and shared some doctoral purposes with the Ed.D./Ph.D. faculty and students on October 8, 2014.Here are my brief bullet notes.
  • Learn to think. Done best in community. Critical thinking, not critical spirit. Provoke: questions, diagram.
  • Pursue truth wherever it may be found. Disruptive truth telling done with care, liberating from boundaries, providing real purpose.
  • Learn to ask good questions. Research is a way of seeing beyond the appearance. Discipline.
  • Establishing sustainable habits. Inquiry. Deeper questions. Curiosity. Collaborative work and inquiry. Reading important works. Teaching through collaboration.
