Just beyond the lamp is a cross, rough, covered with nails. Nothing fancy, but full. The lamp, courtesy of Big Lots, graces a small worship table in the College room. The cross, resting behind, is reminder of a soul-sharing alt.worship service a few years ago. They are not much as material items. They have no power in themselves. But they are rich in meaning. They help us remember who we are: people of the light and the cross.
