April 24 Clippings - label update

In an effort to reduce stress and use my tools, daily Clippings are now on my Google+ page. I may collect weekly "best of" clippings.

Today's wandering includes the importance of paying attention, leaning out to serve better, being ourselves whether we're liked or not, the importance of maintenance, the importance of risk, history versus myth, and evaluating coolness.

April 11 Clippings

  • How to peel an apple like a pro: I would so slice off a finger or worse.
  • Grieving parents find 'stillborn' baby alive in morgue: Thank God--and I do mean Thank God!--the mom wanted to see the baby.
  • Debate over evolution now allowed in Tenn. schools: "Eight Tennessee members of the prestigious National Academy of Sciences signed a letter urging lawmakers to vote it down, saying it would hurt students, the state's reputation and its efforts to recruit science companies. The National Center for Science Education said it would allow teachers to introduce any idea they want into the science curriculum, religious or not."
    • My question: How will debate "harm" students?

Poor lonely guitar pick

Who would do such a thing? Leave a perfectly good nylon pick in the street? Of course, maybe someone lost it and is frantic, wondering where it is.

If it's yours, you dropped it at Norwalk Station, near the Norwalk #5 bus bay. It's still there. I left it all alone. Bad me.

How books were made (tangents)

How books were made: As tedious and labor intensive as this seems, just imagine the process without the typesetter, printer, folder, etc.
