Genesis 35:1-36:43 ~ Matthew 12:1-21 ~ Psalm 15:1-5 ~ Proverbs 3:21-26

From yesterday's reading:
Genesis 32:28
Then he said, "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed."
When he wrestled with the man, Jacob received his new name.
Genesis 35:10
And God said to him, "Your name is Jacob; no longer shall your name be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name." So he called his name Israel.
Why then does God tell him again? Had he forgotten? Had it not sunk in?
