Exodus 4:1-5:21 ~ Matthew 18:1-20 ~ Psalm 22:19-31 ~ Proverbs 5:15-21

Exodus 4:24-26
At a lodging place on the way the LORD met him and sought to put him to death. Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses' feet with it and said, "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!" So he let him alone. It was then that she said, "A bridegroom of blood," because of the circumcision.
Okay, just a few questions. Yahweh had just called Moses as the deliverer of his people, why did he not bring up the circumcision issue before? Why is Zipporah the one to respond? How did she know Yahweh wanted to kill Moses? Did she see it happen? Why did Moses not circumcise his son? Why is the the first mention of circumcision since the incident at Shechem in Genesis 24?

Odd. Very odd.
