BIBLICAL AUTHORITY

As I continued my reading of Newbigin this morning (The Gospel in a Pluralist Society, to be exact), a thought came to me:

The Bible is authoritative.
Our grasp of it is not.

We dare not claim such authority for our understandings, but leave them open to correction.
