Psalm 11:5
The LORD tests the righteous,
but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.

Proverbs 3:11-12
My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline
or be weary of his reproof,
for the LORD reproves him whom he loves,
as a father the son in whom he delights.

While it is something that I often do not experientially understand, God's reproof is always an expression of his decision to love me.
