when they walked thru the sea
did they know they were warriors?
when huddled at the base of Sinai,
shaking with fear,
wandering in desperation
did they know they were warriors?
when they built the tabernacle
and heard the laws
did they know they were warriors?
when the men were being counted
did they finally know they were warriors?
after all
they knew
Yahweh, their God, was a warrior (Exodus 14:14; 15:1ff)
