Theology is like viewing a pitch dark stadium by penlight. You may eventually get to see the whole thing, but only bit by bit.Too often we begin to think that our theological statements are the absolute truth. They may be truth, but they are most certainly not the absolute truth. In fact, we may never know the absolute truth. It may be too grand even for heavenly humans. I don't know. I do know that even while we hold our theological statements to be true, we must also hold them with open hands. We, like many before us and after us, are finite humans with finite vision and finite understanding.
Let's not get cocky.
