The New Testament says that Jesus walked on water, but a Florida university professor [Doron Nof] believes there could be a less miraculous explanation -- he walked on a floating piece of ice.
Read the article: Reuters: Jesus may have walked on ice?
Okay, two questions:
1. How did Peter sink on ice?
2. Why didn't the seasoned fishermen on the boat figure it out?
I think it takes more faith to believe that Jesus walked on ice than it takes to believe that the creator of water walked on water.

Well put!! and heartily agreed.
ReplyDeleteLet's see... Jesus walked on ice for perhaps a mile in sandals and didn't get frostbite? or fall down?
ReplyDeleteMaybe he surfed on just a piece of ice, surfed all the way to the disciples boat? Maybe Peter's problem was that he was a gremmie and hadn't yet learned how to ride an ice surfboard? Cowabunga!
These "naturalistic" explanations are much easier than the supernatural one, aren't they?
I was thinking of the surfing notion...that would explain Peter falling in: he stopped looking at Jesus and fell off the "board"...um...yea...that's likely...
ReplyDeleteSomehow sovereign creator of the universe just explains things better.
