I absolutely agree that God intended us to re-present him to the earth (that is very clear in the 'image' language). I do not believe that this was lost in Eden, but rather irreparably damaged. In other words, I believe we remain the image of God, but that our presentation of that image is always--this side of heaven--distorted. We are both glorious and despicable.
As for, "Holy Spirit are restoring us IN THE PRESENT to that condition (2 Corinthians 3:18). Wow!"
