Cloth strips of various colors have been adorning the trees in front of the BIOLA library this week. Personally, I kinda like it--it's funny (though I am not sure that is what the artist intended). I've done a small informal survey of four others. Two disliked it (one, very intensely). Two were indifferent.

I think the response would be more intense if, say, the artist had placed cameras, capturing close-ups of the cloth blowing in the breeze, or if there had been some sort of perspective gathering forum--a journal, camera, whatever.

As it is, most seem to pass by wondering what and why. But, then, maybe that was the artist's intention...
