WALK WITH ME

“…Barnabas wanted to take with them John called Mark …Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him…”
Acts 15:37; 16:3 ESV

Too often, I go it alone. At this moment, I have no intentional mentor with whom I walk and no intentional mentee who walks with me. There are loose relationships, and God works in them, but I do not go and hunt down a mentee like Barnabas and Paul. I think this is to my shame.

The other end is problematic as well. I have no one with whom I walk and learn, no one who really knows my crap, who clarifies choices.

Next step? I am not sure. Some of it—the mentee part—likely involves the budding college leadership. (If you are reading this, chime in…) As for mentors, my thesis advisor may become this, but that seems distant.

For now, I leave it here.

I think you sell yourself short with the mentee part I have always considered you one of my mentors long before this post ever came up.

  5. ...I'm glad you feel sneaky...and thanks. What I meant in the post, though, is that I am insufficiently intentional. Of course, there is always the possibility that I am being a bit anal...surprising, I know.
