Summary Paraphrase of Amos' Prophecy
The sovereign Creator of the universe has chosen you to be his own. He has given you his heart. Yet you took his heart and spat upon it, all the while playing the lover's role. Yahweh is gracious and you have not been gracious. Yahweh is just and you have not been just. Yahweh is loyal and you have not been loyal. You have earned the fruit of your choices. You will see Yahweh's justice. Even so, in the end the remnant will see his grace.
