Chunk: Amos 7:1-8:3
visionspummel
the prophet's soul.
locusts
and fire
devour.
mercy sought
and offered.
but mercy
may be scorned
only so long before
judgment
is required.
the house,
measured,
has been found
crooked.
the fruit,
ripened,
has been plucked.
despite protest,
despite opposition,
despite brokenness
of the prophet's own soul,
God's word
must be spoken.
songs of praise
become
songs of wailing.
there is nothing left to say.
