ECHOED FORWARD

Ephesians 6:1-4

Echoed forward
from the
birthplace
of God's people Israel,
a command from Sinai:

Obey parents.

Reasons given:
this is right,
this is in your best interest.

But then
the shift
from children
to fathers.

The command:
do not provoke.

Did it bite?
Did they shuffle as they heard
the words?

And then I wonder,
what of us
with no children
and no parents?

What does God say to us?
