Asking these three questions creates disciples by removing hurdles and by showing inherent relevance. Mind you, we're not removing responsibility from the listener. Each of us ought to respond to the proclamation. Truth is, we don't. We rise from the pew and life takes over. It the preacher has done the hard work of asking these three questions--which is his or her responsibility--then the Holy Spirit has more conviction, exhortation, and inspiration fodder.
