'Tis officially done. Tonight, under clouds and a bit of rain, a Master of Theology was conferred upon me by Dr. Barry Corey of Biola University. Now, at home on the couch, the fast is broken and regular time is upon me. There is no homework, just regular work, for the next nine months or so (until the Ph.D., God willing). Between now and then there is writing, reading, thinking, and hopefully getting published. The details need clarification, but I am up to the challenge and willing to take it piece by piece, juxtapose the ideas, and see what emerges.
For the moment, I am enjoying Top Chef (restaurant wars, via tape) and a glass of smooth, nearly luxurious black stout with an excellent balance of hop bitterness and roasted malty sweetness.
And so it begins.

I can't remember how it is that I started reading your blog 3 or 4 years ago (back in the dinosaur era of the blogosphere) but I followed the completion of your MDiv -- and now -- wow -- ThM. On behalf of the early-bloggers association I offer my congratulations -- and eagerly await word on your dissertation topic.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember how I found your blog back then either, but I'm glad I did. I have found much thought fodder (and humor) in reading "Random".
ReplyDeleteAs for the dissertation topic, I eagerly await it as well...such is a mind (currently) full of scattered bits. ;-)
Thanks.
Congratulations! It feels great, doesn't it? I will join you in celebration in a week or so - the current round of antibiotics mandates teetotaling lest I get some kind of nasty reaction.
ReplyDeleteSounds good. I'll have one for ya :-). This is hefe week, so Tuesday's choice is already made.
