PSALM 23--for his name's sake

Psalm 23

he leads me in right paths
for his name's sake

How am I led?

1. admit my need for a guide
2. ask God for help
3. listen for God's response*
4. trust God
5. aim to honor God

* Some ways God responds: Bible, conscience, Holy Spirit, people, impressions, circumstances, pain

Of the five movements above, the most difficult is #5. Habits of mind are trined to honor self by default. Intentionality is hard. Yet in this psalm, the writer is describing reality: God leads; he does so for the sake of HIS name.

Maybe reminding myself of the facts is movement 0.

Could worship really be the basis for discipleship?
