Intellectual humility is the ongoing decision to graciously share and receive ideas.
Intellectual humility gives freely of ideas and even more freely of grace, while remaining open to feedback and the ideas of others. The practice of intellectual humility is a repeated point of decision: at any given moment, the thinker is deciding to be generous and open. It is a repeated point of decision because self-assurance too easily transforms into self-righteousness. The thinker's soul must be kept in check if her thinking is to increase the shared body of knowledge as well as internally improve.
