Structure As Monkey Bars For Freedom


Structure and stability provide space for courageous freedom and creativity.

About two decades ago, I began pondering a notion called "dancing on the monkey bars" (see here, here, and here).  The bottom line of the idea is that structure and stability are needed for freedom and creativity, for if the monkey bars are unstable, the dancer ends up in the ER. On the other hand, when monkey bars are stable, the dance is only limited by the capacities and courage of the dancer.
