in a few minutes the newly reconstructed style of ec general sessions will begin. mind you, i'm not being critical. frankly, last year's needed some rework. a few notions are intriguing. the worship for each session is indigenous, meaning local churches are leading. we also have a blesser. i must say, i'm expectantly curious.
on the table is a small crystal plate with a loaf of bread. two small cups of grapejuice/wine sit on either side of the plate. the three components are under a large clear bowl, with a lit flashlight pointing down at the bread. on stage a long table has been converted into an alter upon whic the elements sit, waiting. tonights experience si brought to us by church of the apostles' seattle.
against a sonic backdrop-words-words in stories and quotes and scripture. profound and mundane intertwined.

the holy eucharist. our liturgical sister treats this meal with such respect and care, ensuring the cover replaced. setting aside disagreement in meaning, i do wonder how much we miss with our oyster crackers and welch's.
