Genesis 24:27 "Blessed be the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his steadfast love and his faithfulness toward my master. As for me, the LORD has led me in the way to the house of my master's kinsmen."During 2005, the college group spent a considerable amount of time looking at the hebrew term, hesed (usually translated 'steadfast love'). Hesed is God's intentional, unchanging towardness. This is the towardness God decided to practice towards Abraham (for more see here). In today's reading, the servant testifies that God has not wavered in his decision. The interesting passage is in Proverbs where the reader is told to bind God's hesed around their neck and write it on the tablet of their heart. Since God's hesed is his own choice, what does it mean to bind it and write it?
Proverbs 3:3 Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
