Life on earth comes with trouble, and trusting God with that trouble transfers its burden to him.
Our temporal experiences of God's sustaining is directly linked to our decision to cast our hardships and anxieties on him. This does not mean trouble will not come our way, and this psalm is an example. Psalm 55 is David's complaint to God about a supposed friend who was doing him harm. The pain was real. Still, David decided to throw the weight of his distress on God, knowing that God would bring justice in th end.
Trusting God does not remove trouble, but it does enable us to properly interpret that trouble in eternal context, allowing God to carry the burden we cannot bear.
